Umbrella Fella

Collect coins and navigate the levels using your umbrella to slow your fall. 

This game was created for Indie Dev Jam #3, a 4 day game jam. I intended there to be a lot more uses for the umbrella (attacking, blocking, sailing, shielding, air lifts) but I just started learning Godot and this is as far as I got.

I completed the game; it’s very simple. The umbrella has one mechanic, but that’s a good start.

Here are some suggestions:

  1. Add Coyote time to the jump.
  2. I was stuck on level 2 for some time. I thought I needed to use the platform below to jump—improve the level layout.
  3. It would be better if you could make collecting coins compulsory for progression; currently, you can just move to the next level.

I did want to make the exit doors require a certain number of coins but ran out of time on the last day.

FWIW, I just set it up so that the Exits for each level require a certain amount of coins to be collected. I’ll have to figure out where to upload the updated version…
